Legal
The standards every SPARK member is held to — profiles, photographs and conduct.
SPARK is a members' club, and the thing that makes it work is that everyone in the room is who they say they are and behaves like someone you would want to sit next to. These guidelines explain what that means in practice. They form part of our Terms and Conditions at spark.love/terms, and breaking them can cost you your membership.
Your profile is how another member decides whether to spend an evening with you. It should look like you, on a normal day.
At least one photo must show your face clearly, unobstructed and in focus. It should be a recent likeness. Sunglasses, masks, heavy filters, extreme distance and heavy shadow all fail this, not because they look bad but because they defeat the point.
We do not accept explicit or sexual imagery, nudity or partial nudity, photos taken in bed or in a state of undress, or images whose evident purpose is sexual rather than social. This is a club for meeting people, not a platform for adult content.
We do not accept photos where you are not the obvious subject: group shots where we cannot tell which person you are, pictures of someone else, pictures of a pet or a car with no person in them, or images taken from another person's account.
If a religious, medical or safety reason means you cannot show your face in the way described above, email hello@spark.love. We will find a reasonable alternative. We would rather have you as a member than a rule perfectly applied.
Use your real name and your real age. Tell the truth about what you do and what you are looking for. Do not use SPARK to sell things, raise money, recruit for a business, or promote another platform.
Be courteous, in the app and in the room. Harassment, abuse, threats, discrimination and unwanted sexual messages have no place here and are the fastest way to lose your membership.
Respect a no. Respect silence, which is also a no.
What another member tells you in confidence stays with you. Do not share screenshots, contact details or photographs of other members. Do not photograph or film anyone at a SPARK experience without asking first.
Turn up if you say you will, and tell us if you cannot. A no-show takes a seat from someone else.
Follow the venue's rules and any instruction from the SPARK host. Drink like an adult. We can ask you to leave, and we will if we need to.
Venue, food and beverage charges are usually your own unless we have said otherwise.
Report it. Use the report link on a member's profile or in your messages, or email hello@spark.love. We read every report.
We use a mix of automated checks and human reviewers. Depending on what has happened, the outcome ranges from a warning to permanent removal. Serious harms, meaning anything involving children, violence or illegal content, mean an immediate and permanent ban.
If you think we have got a decision wrong, email hello@spark.love within 30 days and someone who was not involved the first time will look at it again.
If you feel unsafe at any point, tell us. Our Safety page at spark.love/safety explains what we do and how to reach us quickly.
