SPARK began with a simple belief: life’s greatest opportunities — a co-founder, an investor, a mentor, a lifelong friend — begin with a single introduction. Yet the tools built to connect us made connection shallower. So we built the opposite.

The Founder

One suitcase. Five rebuilds. Ten thousand members.

Sunny Khurana left Auckland in November 2023 with one suitcase and a conviction: that swipe-based platforms were profiting from loneliness rather than solving it. He sold property at a loss to fund the runway, rebuilt the product five times, and grew SPARK to more than 10,000 members across Bangkok and Singapore.

Next: New Zealand — SPARK’s first Western market. SPARK establishes New Zealand operations 1 August 2026; the app launches in New Zealand 1 September 2026. Australia to follow.
