SPARK · THAILAND

Build SPARK Thailand.

Country Manager / Market Partner · Bangkok

SPARK helps people meet people worth knowing, in real life. We are looking for one person to take ownership of Thailand and build the market like an owner.

No fixed salary initially. Performance-based revenue share. Shoestring operating budget. Real ownership of events, partnerships, members and revenue.

THE MANDATE

You will not be handed a playbook.

Part of the role is writing the playbook.

Revenue

Build paid membership, event, sponsorship and commercial-partnership revenue.

Community

Build a high-quality Bangkok pipeline measured by real meetings and repeat behaviour, not followers.

Events

Ship a useful SPARK room roughly every two weeks. Every event needs an acquisition, revenue, retention or learning reason.

Partnerships

Open venues, hospitality groups, communities, creators, sponsors and distribution partners.

Local execution

Recruit and direct the small bench needed to operate. Do not build headcount before the work justifies it.

Measurement

Know each week what happened: paid conversion, event economics, meetings, repeat, partner pipeline and cash collected.

WHAT ALREADY EXISTS

You are not starting from zero.

SPARK supplies the technology, product, brand, payments and central support. Bangkok has already produced real-world meetings, repeat behaviour and a sequence of physical events. SPARK is operating in Bangkok and Auckland.

We deliberately do not send applicants our internal GTM playbooks or market reports before this exercise. We want to see how you think from public evidence.

COMMERCIAL REALITY

This is an entrepreneurial build, not a conventional salaried job.

  • No fixed salary initially.
  • No guaranteed living-cost floor.
  • No guaranteed relocation allowance.
  • No large paid-marketing budget.
  • Specific market-activation expenses may be considered only when approved in advance.
  • The initial arrangement is performance and revenue-share based, with attribution and payment terms agreed in writing before work begins.

This structure is for someone who wants upside from building the market. It is not suitable for someone who needs a conventional salary from day one.

FIRST 90 DAYS

Earn the Country Manager mandate by operating like one.

The preferred starting structure is a 90-day Thailand Market Partner engagement. The Country Manager title is earned through demonstrated ownership, not granted because someone interviewed well.

What should exist by day 90

  • Consistent weekly ownership
  • Two strong rooms per month, unless data says otherwise
  • First attributable cash revenue
  • Useful venue and partner pipeline
  • A member / guest acquisition loop
  • Clean weekly reporting

What we are testing

  • Initiative without spoon-feeding
  • Commercial judgement
  • Bangkok relationship-building
  • Ability to execute on a shoestring
  • Measurement discipline
  • Realistic time commitment

HOW THE PROCESS WORKS

Prove judgment first. Then earn the mandate.

Gate 0 · Founder Challenge

90 minutes. No live prospecting. We assess initiative, commercial judgment and what you would do first.

Gate 1 · 14-day Sprint

Only selected candidates enter a live Market Partner sprint, under written pilot terms before any commercial activity begins.

Gate 2 · 90-day Country Lead

Own events, member acquisition, partnerships, market economics and clean weekly reporting.

Gate 3 · Country Manager

The title is earned through results. Stronger territory economics and any performance-based equity option require separate written approval and terms.

Market Partner and Country Lead economics are recurring and performance-based. Exact percentages, attribution rules and any equity option are set out in written terms before live commercial work begins.

WHO THIS SUITS

We care more about what you built than what your title was.

You may have built a country market, a revenue stream, a community, an events business, a partnership network or a startup operation from an unclear starting point.

We are not looking for: a presentation manager, someone waiting for a budget, someone whose plan begins with paid advertising, or someone who needs Sunny to decide the next action every week.

THE FOUNDER CHALLENGE

You start Monday in Bangkok. What do you do?

Timebox: 90 minutes maximum. Do not contact venues, members, sponsors or prospects as part of the challenge.

Assume SPARK has live technology, a brand, past Bangkok events, an existing member / guest base and almost no discretionary launch budget. Your plan must create a credible acquisition loop, two strong events, useful partnerships, first attributable revenue and evidence that Thailand can become repeatable rather than founder-dependent.

Make reasonable assumptions and state them. Do not ask for an internal playbook first.

APPLICATION

Show us how you would build it.

If you have already interviewed with Sunny, you will not be made to repeat completed screening. Submit the plan and we will continue from where the conversation already is.

Evidence of ownership

Founder Challenge · maximum 90 minutes

Thank you. Your plan is in.

We will review it against the same founder challenge used for every candidate. If you have already interviewed with Sunny, we will continue from that point rather than repeat the process.

Oops! Something went wrong while submitting the form.

What happens next

Strong submissions go directly to a short founder conversation. Candidates who have already interviewed will not repeat completed screening. Finalists may be offered a 90-day Thailand Market Partner engagement, subject to written commercial terms and the correct legal / contracting structure.

No application fee. No membership purchase. No unpaid prospecting task.
